Bombholders MC

History 1976

Um die Unterstützung der US-Army zu erhalten, wird der Bombholders MC Germany offiziell als “Nonautorized civilian organization in the Army” gegründet. Die Army stellt kostenlos ein Clubhaus zur Verfügung (zunächst eine kleine Hütte), finanzielle Unterstützung, sowie die Möglichkeit ein Club-Motorrad und -Van zu unterhalten und fordert dafür eine Satzung, jährliche Berichte und Veranstaltungen zum sicheren Motorradfahren im US-Stützpunkt.
Der BMC zählt Ende 1976 ca 20 Mitglieder (Offiziere, Unteroffiziere, einfache Soldaten). Erster President ist Dan Ewart, erster Road-Captain David Heath. Die Aktivitäten der Bombholders umfassen Fahrten und Treffen am Clubbhaus.

To receive the support of the US-Army, the Bombholders MC Germany is officially founded as a “Nonautorized civilian organization in the Army”. The Army allocates a clubhouse (in the beginning a quanset hut), some funding and allowed to maintain a club motorcycel (Sportster) and a club van (crash vehicle). For all this the army required a constitution, annual reports and the BMC had to provide defensive motorcycle driving classes on post for military personell.
By the end of 1976 BMC counts about 20 members (Officers and enlisted alike). Dan Ewart is the first presidnt, David Heath is Road-Captain. Activities include rides and meeetings.
